Checkers signs 20-unit Las Vegas deal

08 Oct 2007

TAMPA, Fla. — Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc. announced it has secured a deal to develop 20 new restaurants in Las Vegas.

The new development agreement represents the chain's first franchise deal for Nevada and fits with the company's strategic growth plans for the western United States, according to a news release.

Exact locations for the restaurants have not been determined.

According to franchisee Nick Nasrollahi, who previously worked with Jack In The Box for 19 years, his partner, David Meldrum, and he were attracted to Checkers because of its smaller real-estate requirements, double drive-thru building model and 20-year history of success.

Based in Tampa, Fla., Checkers has more than 800 restaurants in 28 states and the District of Columbia.
