OKLAHOMA CITY — Sonic Corp. has opened its 3,500th drive-in location, the company has announced.
The Algonquin, Ill., drive-in, operated by franchisee John Cywinski, officially opened Dec. 4, 2008.
Cywinski leads Chicago-based Cywinski Enterprises, one of three teams developing in the Chicago market. Teams and plans for the market include:
- Cywinski Enterprises: The development of the north/northwest Chicago suburbs, including Lake and McHenry Counties.
- Boom Enterprises: The development of the western suburbs of Chicago in Kane, Dupage, and Northwest Cook counties. The franchise group opened the Chicago area's first Sonic Drive-In in Aurora last August.
- Sonic Restaurants Inc.: The company's restaurant-operating subsidiary, is the principal owner of the new Sonic Drive-In in Country Club Hills, which opened Nov. 10. SRI has additional plans to further develop the south suburbs.
