OAK BROOK, Ill. — McDonald's is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Chicken McNuggets with the launch of Nuggnuts.com, an online fan community for Chicken McNuggets enthusiasts. The site features a Hall of Fame and invites fans to share their love through a Nuggnuts Pledge and branded merchandise.
McDonald's customers can learn the Nuggnuts Pledge on the Web site, send an e-mail through the site explaining why they should be considered for the Hall of Fame and have the opportunity to submit videos and photos and post comments to the Nuggnuts Facebook group, which is also launching today.
Added to McDonald's national U.S. menu in 1983, Chicken McNuggets are currently sold in more than 100 countries and are one of a variety of chicken options, including Premium Chicken Sandwiches and Salads as well as Snack Wraps.
Throughout December, McDonald's will be featured on the National Chicken Council's consumer Web site, www.eatchicken.com, as part of a "Showcase of Chicken" feature on McDonald's.
