CARPENTERIA, Calif. — CKE Restaurants Inc., parent company of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, reported that combined same-store sales for the third quarter ended Nov. 3 were up 0.9 percent, with Carl's Jr. comps up 0.5 percent and Hardee's 1.3 percent. Blended comps for period 10 were up 1 percent, with Carl's Jr. comps flat and Hardee's up 2.1 percent.
Year to date, blended comps were up 2.1 percent, with Carl's Jr. comps up 2.9 percent and Hardee's up 1.1 percent.
Carl's Jr. promoted its expanded line of Guacamole Bacon burgers and debuted the Big Country Breakfast Burrito during the third quarter. Hardee's promoted Little Thickburgers and the Pork Chop 'N' Gravy Biscuit.
As of the end of the second quarter ended Aug. 11, CKE had a total of 3,100 stores in 42 states and 14 countries, including 1,170 Carl's Jr. and 1,917 Hardee's restaurants.
