Miami Herald: Miami-Dade Circuit Court has ruled that Burger King has the right to require franchisees to comply with extended late-night and early-morning hours. Circuit Judge Jon I. Gordon dismissed the lawsuit filed in July by three longtime Burger King Florida franchisees, who argued the extended hours requirement violated their franchise agreements.
 
The franchisees also argued that the hours are unprofitable and pose a safety risk to their employees.
 
In June, Burger King began requiring franchisees to stay open until at least 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and open at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday in order to keep pace with competition.
