DETROIT — White Castle in Detroit is once again offering free food and soft drinks and a place to warm up for Angel's Night volunteers. The annual Angel's Night anti-arson campaign is a three-day event from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31, designed to reduce arson fires in Detroit during the week of Halloween. It is the city of Detroit's largest project, bringing together more than 50,000 volunteers who will patrol neighborhoods from 6 p.m. to midnight.
During a patrol break, volunteers can warm up at a White Castle. Volunteers wearing a Detroit Angel's Night cap or shirt can receive get free and soft drinks at 15 local White Castle locations.
Bob Harrison, regional director of White Castle Systems Inc., said that Detroit White Castles have given away more than one quarter of a million dollars in food and drinks during the Angel's Night campaigns since the program began.
