CHICAGO — E-Learning designer NogginLabs Inc. and McDonald's won gold and silver awards for "Best Overall Custom Content" at the 2008 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards, the Emmys of e-Learning.
"Worldwide Training Curriculum – Crew Trainer" won gold, and "Worldwide Training Curriculum - French Fries" won silver.
McDonald's uses e-Learning modules to pre-train employees before they officially train shoulder-to-shoulder at the station with their crew trainer. E-Learning reduces the amount of time crew trainers spend training new recruits and introducing new products or policies to existing employees, maximizing their time.
"To design an e-Learning module as perfect as the customary French Fry, we divided the McDonald's e-Learning module into bite-sized bursts of e-Learning," said Brian Knudson, CEO of NogginLabs. "Employees click through carefully crafted scenarios that help them discover then digest the material. The format is visual and quick."
