CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Whataburger Restaurants LP has announced it has named Karen Bird as the chain's chief information officer and promoted Rob Rodriguez to regional director of operations for the chain's South Texas region.
Bird most recently held the position of vice president, restaurant information solutions at Brinker International. In her new role with Whataburger, she will serve as the strategic leader for the company's information technology department.
Rodriguez will lead more than 80 restaurants in the Corpus Christi, Victoria and Rio Grande Valley region. He joined Whataburger in December 2006 as an area manager and within six months was promoted to director of operations for approximately 30 Whataburger restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
