MIAMI — Burger King Corp. has announced the roll-out of Futbol Kingdom, a series of street-level futbol events to be held in eight markets across the United States throughout August and September 2008. The interactive Futbol Kingdom experience is designed to reach key Spanish markets as well as second- and third-generation Hispanics on a national level.
The free events will feature SoccerShowdown, an internationally known team of champion freestyle and street ball players direct from Europe in their U.S. debut. The Futbol Kingdom center court will feature SoccerShowdown's freestyle show along with interactive head-to-head demonstrations, including clinics to teach players "ground moves."
The event will also include games for attendees, including skills challenge activities. Participants will have a chance to receive Dr Pepper and Burger King giveaways. In addition, Burger King treats and Dr Pepper product sampling will be available at selected events, while supplies last.
