Culver's reaches $1 million in scholarships

PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. — Culver's restaurants has announced that nearly 200 of its student team members across the country received a bonus this year – scholarship money. Awarding its 1 millionth dollar in 2008, Culver's VIP Foundation Scholarship Fund has assisted 1,000 employees pursuing higher education over the past 15 years.

Culver's awarded $216,000 in scholarships to student employees during its annual VIP scholarship reception, held July 23, 2008, in Madison, Wis. More than 100 restaurants and their team members from 13 states were represented in this year's program.

This is the 15th year Culver's has awarded scholarships for a combined total of more than $1.1 million. The fund began in 1993 with a single $500 scholarship.
