Yum reports comps, revenue growth for Q4, '07

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Yum! Brands Inc. has reported results for the fourth quarter and year ended Dec. 29, 2007. Worldwide same-store sales increased 3 percent for the year. For the quarter, same-store sales grew 4 percent, including 17 percent in mainland China, 5 percent in Yum! Restaurants International and 1 percent in the United States.

Revenues for the year were $10.4 billion, a 9-percent increase over the previous year. Revenues for the quarter were $3.3 billion, an 8 percent increase over the last year's fourth quarter.

Net income for the year was $0.9 billion, a 10 percent increase over the previous year. Net income for the quarter was $231 million, a slight decrease from the prior fourth quarter's $232 million.
