DUBLIN, Ohio — Annual same-store sales at wendy's International Inc.'s U.S. franchise restaurants increased 1.4 percent for the year ended Dec. 30, 2007, compared to a 0.6 percent increase in 2006. Annual same-store sales at U.S. company-operated restaurants increased 0.9 percent, compared to a 0.8 percent increase in 2006.
Fourth-quarter same-store sales at U.S. franchise restaurants increased 0.2 percent, compared to an increase of 2.7 percent a year ago, and fourth-quarter same-store sales at U.S. company-operated restaurants decreased 0.8 percent, compared to an increase of 3.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2006.
For the year, the company reported income from continuing operations of $86.6 million, up 134 percent compared to $37 million in 2006. Income for the quarter was $14.1 million, up 370 percent from $3 million in the fourth quarter of 2006.
