Reuters: McDonald's Corp. will sell up to 21 percent — or 1,000 to 1,500 — of its company-owned restaurants to franchisees over the next three years.
 
The announcement comes amid McDonald's attempts to reduce its restaurant ownership and focus more resources into markets with rapid growth, such as China, Russia and India.
