DALLAS — Wing delivery chain WingStreet, a subsidiary of Yum Brands Inc., won top prize in two categories at the annual Atlanta Wings Festival, held Sept. 22-23. WingStreet was recognized for Best Medium Sauce and Best BBQ Sauce with its Spicy BBQ Sauce.
The Atlanta awards come on the heels of two other awards WingStreet won this year. In July, Nation's Restaurant News named WingStreet an honoree of its 2007 "Hot Concepts! Award," and during Labor Day weekend, WingStreet won first prize in the Traditional Hot Wing Sauce category for its Buffalo Burnin' Hot Wings at the annual National Buffalo Wing Festival.
The WingStreet brand was created in 2003 as a delivery-based wing chain alongside Pizza Hut restaurants. The 1,000th location opened in March 2007.
