WESTBURY, N.Y. — Nathan's Famous Inc. has reported results for the first quarter of its 2008 fiscal year ended June 24, 2007.
Total revenue from continuing operations increased by 10.2 percent to $12.7 million during the quarter, as compared to $11.6 million for the same period last year.
Net income for the quarter increased 128 percent to $3.2 million as compared to $1.4 million for the same quarter last year.
Sales from the Branded Product Program, featuring the sale of Nathan's hot dogs to the foodservice industry, increased by 16.8 percent to $5.9 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2008 as compared to sales of $5.1 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2007.
Revenues and operating profits from Nathan's company-owned restaurants, restaurant franchising, retail licensing and sales to its television marketer increased 3.2 percent and 16 percent, respectively, compared to the first quarter fiscal 2007.
