PHOENIX — Quick-serve electronic-payment provider Hypercom Corporation July 12 announced that William Keiper is stepping down as the company's chief executive officer, and will be resigning as a member of the board of directors effective August 15, 2007.
 
Philippe Tartavull, president of Hypercom, has been promoted to chief operating officer, effective immediately. Ian Marsh, executive vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific Region of the Western Union Company, has been appointed a member of the board of directors. The company will conduct a search for a new CEO under the direction of chairman Daniel Diethelm.
 
Keiper became Hypercom's CEO in 2005.
