MIAMI — Burger King and Visa have partnered on the Fastest Way to a Free Meal promotion.
Burger King customers can earn a free meal by using their Visa credit or check card for purchases at more than 7,500 participating Burger King restaurants in the United States. For every 10 purchases made June 1 through Aug. 31, 2007, a statement credit will be issued for the amount of a free meal on customers' Visa card statement (up to $7.00).
To earn a free meal, customers must register their Visa check card online. Each Burger King purchase made will then be logged automatically, and for every 10th qualified purchase, a statement credit will be issued for the amount of the purchase.
According to a Visa Quick Service Restaurants Survey, performed by Opinion Research Corporation between May 17-21, 2007, 68 percent of respondents agree that purchases at quick-serve restaurants are faster when using a credit or debit card. One in five respondents use a payment card to pay for QSR purchases and of these respondents, half use a debit card most often. Other survey results include:
- 84 percent said cards allow them to track account spending
- 83 percent said cards are cleaner than paper money
- 82 percent said cards are more convenient
- 82 percent said by using their card, they don't have to plan ahead
