Franchise International: Famous Brands, a South African based fast food company, has bought 75 percent of Wimpy U.K. for £3 million (U.S. $5.97 million) and has said it will invest a further £2 million (U.S. $3.98 million) in the brand.
 
Wimpy U.K. is one of the largest independently owned franchised restaurant chains in the United Kingdom.
