LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After nearly three years of research and planning, KFC restaurants nationwide have switched to trans fat-free cooking oil. Menu items cooked on trans fat-free oil includes all of KFC's fried chicken products, such as its Original Recipe and Extra Crispy chicken, KFC Snacker sandwiches and potato wedges.
 
In conjunction with the nationwide rollout of its zero grams trans fat menu items, KFC customers can log on to the company's Web site to seek out a secret message that could unlock a chance to win one of 10,000 $1 KFC gift checks. The checks can be used toward the purchase of any KFC item.
