GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meritage Hospitality Group Inc., which operates 49 Wendy's restaurants and five O'Charley's in western and southern Michigan, has withdrawn its listing on the American Stock Exchange and has completed a "going private" transaction.
 
In a letter to shareholders, company president and chief executive Robert E. Schermer said the move would allow the company to avoid increasing SEC costs.
