• Dunkin' Donuts gives free java to Unionized Auto Workers

DETROIT — It's North American International Auto Show time here, and as part of its free coffee giveaway program for those serving the community, Dunkin' Donuts dubbed Jan. 17 as Unionized Auto Workers Appreciation Day.
 
According to a news release, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., all auto workers affiliated with a union can receive a free, large brewed coffee at any participating Dunkin' Donuts in Michigan, simply by showing their ID cards or work badges.
 
"The area's auto workers are often overlooked and do a remarkable job to keep the industry running," said Nick Spencer, Dunkin' Donuts marketing manager. "We want to thank them with a free cup of coffee and keep them running throughout the day as the cars they build do for us."
 
The appreciation day for unionized auto workers is the fifth in a series, between now and December 2007, when Dunkin' Donuts thanks hard working individuals who serve the communities in which it operates.
