TOLEDO, Ohio — Marco's Pizza announced the appointment of P. David Black, former president and chief operating officer at Domino's Pizza in the 1990s, as its executive vice president.
According to a news release, Black will oversee operations, training and other store-level activities for 150-unit Marco's.
Black began his career as manager of a Domino's Pizza Store in Gainesville, Fla., in 1972, and later became a franchisee in Tampa and North Carolina. He joined Domino's corporate team in 1976 and within two years he was promoted to regional vice president for the southeast region. A subsequent promotion to vice president of operations followed in 1981, when the company grew from 1,200 units to more than 5,000 worldwide. In 1989, he became president and chief operating officer of Domino's, positions in which he served until 1991.
"Dave Black brings Marco's Pizza the ideal background of growth with a major player in the pizza industry," said Jack Butorac, president of Marco's Franchising LLC. "He is an operations professional in every sense of the word. We are excited about this addition to our team."
