SEOUL — McDonald's Korea has opened a flagship restaurant north of Seoul. According to a news release, the restaurant in the city of Pocheon is 3,300-square meters and is drive-thru capable. The store also has a playground and party zones. The company said it will target commuting workers, students and military from nearby bases. The store will be open 24 hours and become the benchmark for future McDonald's outlets in the country. McDonald's Korea spent 4 billion won (U.S. $4.26 million) last year upgrading and renovating its stores and developing menus tailored to local consumers.
