OAK BROOK, Ill. — McDonald's reported solid comps for October.
 
The company credited breakfast and new promotions for a 5.5 percent system-wide increase in same-store sales. In the United States, comps were up 5.6 percent while Europe same-store sales increased 5.5 percent and Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Africa rose 4.7 percent.
