• Pizza Patrón opens first 'Lista' drive-thru unit

DALLAS — Pizza Patrón opened its first Lista drive-thru unit Sept. 1 in Grand Prairie, Texas.
 
According to a news release, "Lista" is Spanish for "ready now." In February, the company announced it would launch its Lista carryout program offering hot-and-ready large 15-inch pizzas, available with pepperoni and cheese, for $4.99, in all 58 locations. The success of the program prompted the development of the drive-thru Lista unit. (Read also The red-hot Hispanic market.)
 
The fully branded Lista unit features an expanded Lista menu for convenient ordering at the drive-thru window. The new menu includes La Patrona (a deluxe pizza with everything) and the company's new line of Fiesta Wings as Lista items.
 
"The pizza business is moving in a direction where it will resemble the fast-food industry," said Ernesto Hernandez, Pizza Patrón director of operations. "That's why we developed Lista, our 'Ready Now' program and why we've opened a Lista Drive-Thru, for our customers who are really in the mood for a Patrón pie but are also on the go."
