OAKVILLE, Ontario— Tim Hortons Inc. announced solid results for the second quarterended July 2, 2006.
 
Same-store sales rose 6.1 percent in Canada and 8.4 percent in the United States.
 
Total revenue was $406.8 million compared to $368.5 million last year, a 10.4 percent increase.
Tim Hortons opened 30 restaurants in the quarter: 24 in Canada, six in the United States.
