• Carl's Jr. and Hardee's report solid sixth period

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — CKE Restaurants reported solid same-store sales for period six, the four weeks ended July 17.
 
Carl's Jr. same store sales increased 3.4 percent, while Hardee's comps rose 2.9 percent.
 
CKE president and chief executive Andrew Puzder said these gains were achieved without the introduction of a new lunch/dinner item at either brand.
