OAK BROOK, Ill. — McDonald's chief executive officer Jim Skinner credited the chain's worldwide marketing efforts for strong second-quarter sales.
 
The company said global comparable sales increased 5.5 percent for the second quarter while domestic comparable sales increased 4.2 percent. Europe comparable sales increased 6.3 percent.
