Fast Casual magazine received an APEX Award for Publication Excellence July 5.
The magazine, published by NetWorld Alliance, was one of only 22 magazines to receive the award in the "New Magazines and Journals" category. The APEX Awards are bestowed upon Web and print publications that illustrate excellence in editorial and graphic design content. According to APEX officials, 5,000 publications entered this year's contest.
Fast Casual magazine will publish its sixth issue in August.
Managing editor Fred Minnick said the award is a tribute to a hard-working staff and wonderful industry.
"The fast-casual restaurant segment is filled with hard-working entrepreneurs and businesspeople that deserve a publication dedicated to their efforts," Minnick said. "I am thankful to have a team of excellent freelance writers and a great graphic design artist."
NetWorld also received awards for KioskMarketplace.com and ATMmarketplace.com.
