• AFC (Popeyes) same-store sales increase 6.1% for Q1

ATLANTA —  AFC Enterprises Inc., the franchisor and operator of Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, reported results for its first quarter ended April 16.
 
Domestic same-store sales increased 6.1 percent. The company reported net income of $5.8 million while revenues declined $3.7 million to $42.6 million.
 
AFC said revenue declined because of Hurricane Katrina's impact on operations in storm-damaged areas.
