ATLANTA — March is National Nutrition Month, and Chick-fil-A is offering advice to consumers on eating right when eating out. In a recent national survey of more than 2,000 American adults conducted by Technomic Inc., 100 percent of those surveyed reported that they had eaten out in the past 30 days.
"Providing healthy, nutritious products that meet consumers' dietary needs has always driven menu decisions at Chick-fil-A," said Jodie Worrell, Chick-fil-A Nutritionist. "Eating healthy does not mean having to give up your favorite foods. Through moderation and balanced choices, as well as exercise, you can achieve a healthy lifestyle. By making informed decisions, eating out can easily fit into any diet."
Through a national media campaign, Chick-fil-A's Worrell offers the following tips to consumers dining out:
- Be aware of hidden calories.
- Use condiments sparingly.
- Control your portion size.
- Choose unsweetened drinks.
- Choose options with more fiber.
- Plan ahead. Use nutrition information to plan your meals in advance.
- Share. Split large entrees, desserts and appetizers with a companion.
- Choose healthy or light options.
- Stop when you feel full.
- Order healthy sides.
