MILFORD, Conn.— For the 14th time in 18 years, the SUBWAY restaurant chain has been named the No. 1 franchise opportunity by Entrepreneur magazine's Annual "Franchise 500" rankings. During that 18- year period, the chain has added more than 21,000 locations and now operates nearly 25,000 restaurants in 83 countries.

The "Franchise 500" rankings are the most comprehensive franchise rankings in the world and considers many factors, including financial strength and stability, growth rate, the size of the system and start-up costs.
