Turns out size matters, and Burger King's Tendercrisp chicken burger isn't as big as British consumers might think it is.
On Wednesday, Britain's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned a BK advertisement depicting a man in a motel room eating a chicken burger that filled his hands, according to REUTERS.
Customers complained to the ASA after realizing the burger is much smaller than the advertisment portrayed it to be. The commercial included deceptively close-up shots to give viewers such an impression, which led to the ASA's decision to uphold the complaints and ban the advertisement completely.
The ASA said, on its website, "We purchased three Tendercrisp chicken burgers and noted the thickness of the burgers, the quantity of additional fillings (such as salad) and the subsequent overall height of the product was considerably less than appeared in the ad."
