Philip Greifeld has been named CEO of Captain D's Seafood Kitchen, effective Sept. 13.

He will succeed David Head, who left the company to pursue other interests.

Greifeld joins Captain D's from Huddle House restaurants, where he served as president and CEO for the past decade. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the restaurant and retail industries.

Captain D's is owned by Sun Capital Partners Inc. It has 539 restaurants in 25 states.
