Carl's Jr. taps new PAR EverServ for POS solution

Carl’s Jr. has implemented a POS solution featuring PAR EverServ QSR software, running on PAR EverServ 6000 terminals.

The QSR-specific application is integrated with two other EverServ modules, streamlining operations management, operations reporting and QSR Automations ePic Kitchen Display software to maximize productivity.

PAR’s Operations Reporting is web-based and consolidates data from multiple units to provide visibility of financials, sales analysis, marketing, inventory, and workforce status.

Carl’s Jr., owned by CKE Restaurants, went live with the system in July in Las Vegas. The unit is owned by CKE franchisee S.L. Investments.

The new EverServ solution is expected to roll out to 37 Carl’s Jr. restaurants by the end of the year.

PAR has provided hardware, software and services to QSR chains for more than 30 years. The EverServ QSR, however, was recently introduced and designed specifically to increase order speed, improve staff efficiency, increase sales, and improve decision making.

The platform is simple to use with touchscreen technology, and can be customized to each unit. It includes the following features:

• Conversational ordering, which taps into order logic based on the way guests speak, enabling speed, shortening lines and reducing training times.
• Minimization of keystrokes, to reduce transaction times and expedite service.
• Advanced reporting and analysis offered by EverServ QSR’s sales data.
• A suggestive selling and up-selling rules engine, allowing staff to enter add-on sales and generate incremental sales.
• The ability to operate in a downtime scenario.

“At (this system’s) core is order accuracy, speed of service improvements and software designed with QSR operations. (Carl’s Jr.) has seen an improvement in its operations, client satisfaction and positive revenue impacts since migrating to the EverServ QSR software,” said Jonathon Sellers, director of software solutions, ParTech. “The EverServ Suite is a next generation hospitality technology platform that leverages Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to create a fully connected hospitality technology platform that enables and improves quick-service operations.”

SIP Coffee House, a single unit operator of a European style coffee house in San Antonio, has also successfully deployed the EverServ QSR solution.

S.L. Investments was tapped as a launch partner because it fit the operator profile and allowed PAR’s software to get exposure in CKE operations. The company has committed to a system-wide rollout of the EverServ Software before the end of the year, according to Sellers.

Investments. “The conversational ordering feature allows us to process orders much more quickly, and the ease by which we can integrate external ordering capability gave us powerful access to new features like line busting. We are impressed with both the robust customer service features of EverServ QSR and the strength of its enterprise management capabilities.”

PAR predicts there will be 100 EverServ locations by November and plans for an even larger roll out in January. PAR currently has commitments from two launch partners and four pilots to hit this goal.
