Taco John's hoping to woo franchisees

Taco John’s has launched an aggressive incentive program to draw new franchisees.
Taco John's will waive franchise royalty fees for qualifying new restaurants during their first year of operation. Also, during the second year, if the restaurant continues to meet certain requirements in the incentive program, the royalty fee will be 2 percent, which is half the standard rate.
“It will make a big difference for those who are torn between investing in a new Taco John’s restaurant and holding back for fear the economy will continue to struggle,” said Brett Miller, vice president of development for Taco John’s. “Our goal is to find qualified new franchisees and help them get off the ground with a little extra breathing room.”
Although Taco John’s currently has more than 415 restaurants in 25 states, many of these locations are in rural communities, making it harder to acquire new business.
The deadline for a new franchisee to participate in the incentive program is March 30, 2011. Their restaurants have to be opened before the end of 2011. Taco John’s is also offering a $5,000 refund of the initial franchise fee to existing franchisees upon opening a new restaurant if they meet all of the other incentive program requirements.
