In-N-Out Burger has announced its plan for expansion to the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. The company hopes to bring eight new restaurants and a major distribution center to Texas by the end of 2011.

The chain was originally given approval to open in Dallas in May.

According to The Dallas Morning News, In-N-Out Burger currently has just one distribution hub in the Los Angeles suburb of Baldwin Park, which makes hamburger patties for all 247 stores.

The company said it is close to signing a lease for the 60,000 square-foot hub, and a Dallas regional office. Up until now, the chain's other largest concentration is in Phoenix, with about 12 locations.

The new expansion into Texas is expected to bring 250 jobs to the region by 2011, and is also putting pressure on Whataburger and Fuddruckers, both born in Texas.

From the story:

"Dallas absolutely will be our hub to grow into other markets in Texas," said Carl Van Fleet, vice president of planning and development for In-N-Out. "This is going to meet our growth needs for a long, long time."
