Subway World Headquarters recently honored employees and executives at the company’s annual anniversary luncheon, which took place at Alderio's Restaurant in Milford, Conn. The company recognized 123 people for their hardwork and dedication to the company.
Among the recognized employees were two vice presidents of Subway, Cindy Eadie and Millie Shinn. Both have worked for the company for 30 years. Eadie began working for Subway when the company had 154 stores. During her years with the company, Eadie was in charge of marketing and advertising and saw the brand become successful after the launch of Jared Fogle, the iconic Subway spokesperson.
Shinn started at Subway when the company had 137 restaurants and established some of the company’s important initiatives, such as baking bread in the store.
Currently, the Subway chain now has more than 33,500 stores in 92 countries. What started as a single sandwich shop 45 years ago has blossomed into one of the largest quick-service brands.
Subway also honored the first Subway employee Dick Pilchen, who has been working for the company for 45 years and created the first Subway sign for the first store in Bridgeport, Conn. in 1965. Pilchen now works with Subway’s local marketing group as a profit building consultant, providing advice on how to increase sales for franchisees. Pilchen also owns and operates two Subway locations in Massachusetts.
