Burger King Corp. has named Jose Cil as president of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland.
Cil will report to BK CEO Bernardo Hees. He replaces Kevin Higgins.
Cil began his career with Burger King in 2000, serving as senior attorney. He joined the EMEA team in 2005 as division vice president of operations. In 2008, he was named to the same position in the United States.
Cil most recently served as vice president and regional manager of Wal-Mart stores in Florida.
“Jose’s industry experience is a significant asset to our business and we are pleased to have him lead our EMEA region,” Hees said. “We’ve experienced strong growth in Europe and the Middle East in the past few years and we are confident that Jose’s leadership will continue to build on our accomplishments and take our business in the region to the next level.”
