Burgerville unveils three new menu items

Burgerville is heating up its breakfast menu and adding some spice to its sandwich line. Now available is the Senen's Breakfast Burrito; Green Chile Cheddar Egg Sandwich; and the Spiced Cranberry Chicken Sandwich.

For early birds, the Senen's Breakfast Burrito is named after Monmouth, Ore. Burgerville general manager Senen Garcia.

Garcia formerly worked at the Disneyland Resort before moving onto Burgerville and suggesting the addition of a breakfast burrito made with local, seasonal ingredients.
His suggestion inspired Jeff Harvey, Burgerville president and CEO, to form the Burgerville Chef's Council, a group of local chefs, general managers and members of the executive team that designs new menu items highlighting ingredients common in the Pacific Northwest.

The burrito features:

  • Two cage-free eggs
  • Fresh-made salsa
  • Tillamook white cheddar cheese
  • Nitrite-free sausage wrapped in a flour tortilla

Guests can also order the item without meat or substitute sausage with bacon, ham, a beef patty or a veggie patty. The burrito is sold fo $3.49, or as part of a basket for $5.29.

If the Senen's Breakfast Burrito isn't spicy enough to wake you up, Burgerville is also now offering a Green Chile Cheddar Egg Sandwich.

The sandwich features:

  • Roasted poblano pepper
  • Tillamook white cheddar cheese
  • One cage-free fried egg served on a toasted bagel or English muffin.

The sandwich is priced at $2.79 or as part of a $4.59 basket.

Finally, the Spiced Cranberry Chicken Sandwich, which sells for $4.79 or $7.99 as part of a basket, comes with grilled or crispy antiobiotic-free chicken.

Also included is:

  • Spiced Cranberry Sauce made with Clearwater Cranberries located in Port Orford, on the southern Oregon coast
  • Fresh tomato
  • Leaf lettuce
  • Red onion slices
  • Three Seed Bun from the Franz family in Portland

Pacific Northwest-based Burgerville is a bit of a quick-service anomoly. Restaurants feature drive-thrus and an average service time of under 4 minutes, but the food is mostly local and sustainable, often sourced from nearby farms, orchards and ranches.

The chain also rotates limited-time offerings made with seasonal ingredients. According to John Kreuzer, spokesperson for Burgerville, the company typically launches two new menu offerings each 6 to 8 weeks, but has added a third this time around.

Burgerville is also donating $1 of every gift card sold through Dec. 31 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon. The organization grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
