Burger King corp. has been given the annual Best People Practices Award for Leadership and Excellence in Workforce Practices in the quick-service category.
The recognition was presented by People Report, a provider of human resources insight for the service sector industry.
During the presentation, Burger King was touted for its achievements in management retention, hourly employee retention and composite diversity, year-over-year improvements, community involvement and overall sustainable business practices.
"We are honored to be recognized by People Report with their prestigious Best People Practices award," said Jose Tomás, executive vice president, chief human resources and communications officer for BKC. "We work hard to enhance, evolve and sustain our human resources practices throughout our organization."
Burger King Corp. is the largest QSR brand to win the award. It was recognized among the 100-plus companies that track and report their human capital intelligence monthly.
The award was announced Nov. 17, not long after the company shuffled its senior management team after its sale to Brazilian company 3G Capital.
