Bojangles’ ready for Atlanta expansion

Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘N Biscuits plans to open 25 units in the metro Atlanta area within the next five years.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Charlotte, N.C.-based company already has 30 locations in the market.

A recent wave of franchise interest is the impetus behind these expansion plans. Not all of the new units will be franchised, however. A corporate store is currently in development in Winder, Ga., and a handful of others are in the early stages.

Bojangles’ executive vice president Eric Newman said the Atlanta area could support more than 75 restaurants. There are more than 100 units in Charlotte, a notably smaller market.
