Louisville, Ky.-based Yum! Brands Inc., parent company of Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, A&W and Long John Silver's, presented its international growth predictions at the Cowen & Co. Consumer Conference Tuesday in New York City.
According to the Los Angeles Business Journal, Tim Jerzyk, the company's senior vice president of investor relations, announced that Yum! expects its operating profit from international units to account for 75 percent of total profits by 2015.
The prediction seems feasible — in 2010, 65 percent of Yum! Brands' overall operating profit was from its international business. In 1998, international profits made up 22 percent of the company's operating profit.
Jerzyk said the company expects overseas units to continue growing faster than its domestic restaurants.
