Canadians can now experience the world of self-service when they visit A&W restaurants in Ontario, Vancouver and Calgary.

Located at the front of each restaurant, the kiosks in the hamburger chain's new "urban concept restaurants" allow customers to use their debit or credit cards to place orders. The new design also allows menu boards to be placed on the counter with bold photos to facilitate easy ordering for multilingual customers.

According to a company press release, A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. plans to open additional urban concept restaurants in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal. The restaurants also include free wi-fi and waste-reduction initiatives.
