McDonald’s Angus Third Pounder, introduced in 2009, has gotten a bold new makeover. The company has introduced its new Chipotle BBQ Bacon Angus, which is available for a limited time through March 31.
The item includes a 100-percent Angus beef patty, bacon, chipotle BBQ sauce, red onion rings, crinkle-cut dill pickles and melted cheese, and is available as a sandwich or as a Snack Wrap.
"The new Chipotle BBQ Bacon Angus Third Pounder deliciously combines the bold flavors of tangy BBQ, smoky Chipotle peppers, premium toppings and the Angus beef our customers have come to love," said Marta Fearon, director, U.S. marketing, McDonald's USA. "And by offering consumers a Snack Wrap or Third Pound burger option, customers can choose how they experience this new bold Angus flavor."

Sharing across the ocean
Meanwhile, McDonald’s UK outlets have introduced the new ShareBox, a 20-piece Chicken McNuggets option served with a limited-edition sweet chili dip.
The ShareBox makes its debut today and was launched to appeal to families and to further tap into market share. KFC sells shared chicken buckets and Burger King offers 7- and 14-piece Chicken Bites buckets.
Prior to this rollout, McDonald’s only offered 6- and 9-piece McNuggets options.
The ShareBox is being sold for £3.99 (about $6.41), according to Marketing Magazine.
