Shortly after launching a new Hearty Snacks line nationwide, Dunkin' Donuts announced it is expanding its all-day menu options with a new Chicken Salad Sandwich in the New York Tri-State area.
Starting today, Dunkin' Donuts will sell the Chicken Salad Sandwich in 28 counties throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The sandwich includes fresh chicken salad served with or without cheese on an oven-toasted bagel and will be available for a suggested $2.99. Customers will also have the option to order the sandwich on a croissant or English muffin.
The launch of the Chicken Salad Sandwich follows the successful New York Tri-State market rollout of the Tuna Salad Sandwich in 2009.
"The Chicken Salad Sandwich is a menu item that reflects consumers' evolving eating habits and expectations in their on-the-go lifestyles," said Missy Maio, manager of field marketing for Dunkin' Donuts in the Central Atlantic Region. "After observing the demand for the Tuna Salad Sandwich in our Tri-State area shops, we are very pleased that we can expand our current all-day menu."
Additionally, Dunkin' Donuts is testing four new sandwiches and three soups in 34 outlets in Western New York. According to the Buffalo Business First, if these items are received well, they could be added to the chain's menu nationwide.
These test items include roast beef, turkey and bacon, tuna and chicken salad sandwiches, as well as chicken noodle, tomato and broccoli cheddar soups. The soups and sandwiches spent six months in research and development before hitting test markets.
