Sonfish LLC, a Captain D's franchisee with 21 units in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

According to the Nashville Business Journal, Memphis-based Sonfish, which employs 363 people, plans to close up to six underperforming locations as part of the reorganization.

According to its website, Sonfish was founded in 2009 by some of Memphis' top business leaders. Joe Guido, operating partner, has more than 15 years of experience with Captain D's.
