To celebrate the recent rollout of its new 24 oz. extra large cup, Tim Hortons has launched a Facebook photo contest for fans across Canada for a chance to win free coffee for a year.

Tim Hortons is asking fans to creatively show how much they love the new extra large cup by submitting photos that demonstrate its size. Canadians will vote for their favorite photos and the six that receive the highest votes will win a prize from Tim Hortons.

The grand prize winner will take home free coffee for a year and the top 5 finalists will win a $100 Tim Card. Full rules are available on Tim Hortons' Facebook page.

    From my point of view, these kind of marketing campaigns are a great idea and normally achieve great results.
    From one side, Tim Hortons is able to have a fluent interaction with their customers and give them the possibility to be part of the brand.
    Additionally, they grant various awards for the finalist but each one related to the brand. Great idea and highly valuated by their followers.
    Finally, they could measure their impact in social media through the final results of the campaign. Lovely since a marketing perspective.
