Keyser Retail Solutions (KRS), a provider of QSR signage and drive-thru technology, has introduced its newest product — the Order Zone Optimizer Drive-thru Menu Board system.

The product was developed in direct response to QSR operators' need to better implement dayparting strategies at the drive-thru while keeping costs at a minimum, the company said.

"We set out to leverage the very latest in available technologies to create a drive-thru menu board product line that is unmatched in terms of driving sales up and operating costs down," said Judy Haselberger, KRS president. "The OZO delivers on both fronts."

The Order Zone Optimizer menu board system is designed to be modular and to support a multiple daypart business. Each module is a three-sided column, and operators can implement signage that has one, two, three or more columns depending upon their need.

The columns rotate to a new daypart through an automation system that is programmed similar to most home thermostats. This automation allows greater control and flexibility of customer communication. It also eliminates the need for a crew person to leave the restaurant to change the menu signage at any time of day.

OZO Menu Boards come standard with energy-efficient LED lighting. According to Keyser, savings from the technology offer a ROI of 20 months and an annual savings of $1,000 per unit. The LED lighting system also requires very little maintenance. Bulbs and ballasts can last up to seven years or more, depending upon the number of hours/day of use.

The development of this technology began in 2007 and was released nationally in 2011. KRS's sister business Florida Plastics International installed the very first application of OZO technology in a large QSR operator's drive-thrus in several U.S. markets.

In 2011, KRS entered into a marketing agreement with digital signage provider Wireless Ronin Technologies to provide digital and other marketing technology solutions to the QSR industry.

Additionally, in December, Keyser launched the Impulse Zone Mini Duo and Mini Trio, two new drive-thru signage products specifically created for the QSR market.
