LivingSocial has announced the national launch of Takeout & Delivery, a virtual "restaurant row" to help diners across the country order food for pickup or delivery from local restaurants.
Takeout & Delivery provides the company's quick-service and fast casual restaurant partners in 26 markets with a better tool to reach new and existing customers. LivingSocial's Instant service, which served as a testing ground for Takeout & Delivery, will be transitioning to the new ordering service in all of its markets nationwide.
"Consumer adoption of new technologies works best when it simplifies something they were already doing," said Greg Mazanec, general manager of LivingSocial Takeout & Delivery. "Consumers aren't pulling their phones out to search for the nearest real-time discount on a car inspection or framing service. They are, however, looking for a faster and better way to order food from their favorite local restaurants. By pivoting our Instant business to focus on Takeout & Delivery, we're helping our restaurant merchants better connect with new and existing customers, while also saving our members time and money."
LivingSocial members can use Takeout & Delivery to order carryout or delivery without picking up the phone, waiting in line, trying to find a menu, or searching for cash.
In addition, first-time Takeout & Delivery users can dine for one dollar with the "$1 for $10" introductory offer available at LivingSocial.com for use on Takeout & Delivery orders. LivingSocial also will offer "featured specials" similar to its regular daily deals for use with Takeout & Delivery at a range of local restaurants.
Takeout & Delivery offers restaurant partners an opportunity to showcase their menus online. With the introduction of Takeout & Delivery, LivingSocial now offers a full suite of marketing services for restaurant operators from online ordering as well as its traditional daily deals.
In addition to Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Montgomery County, Md., diners in 23 new markets can now enjoy Takeout & Delivery from LivingSocial, including: Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Baltiomre; Boston; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; East Valley, Ariz.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Houston; Miami; Minneapolis; Oakland, Calif.; Philadelphia; Phoenix; San Diego; San Francisco; Scottsdale, Ariz.; Seattle; SF Peninsula, Calif.; St. Louis; and St. Paul, Minn.
To order food through Takeout & Delivery, guests need to log onto livingsocial.com/menus or click on the Takeout & Delivery tab on their LivingSocial app and restaurants will appear that offer food for carryout and delivery. Customers can click on the restaurant they're interested in, view the menu and choose items to order.
